  Why not hold Whitney’s Heichel’s memorial where everyone could attend?

  this question has been brothering me for awhile.

  why did whitney heichel's family not hold her memorial in a large place such as a school gymnasium?.

  we have has memorial's where i live which is about 600 miles from portland or and our city has places that are large enough for 2000 or more.

  If they felt that way then way accept the gifts of money that the worldy people gave them and also all the time the worldy people gave if they have to grive alone.

  I am not trying to be uncarring toward the family in any way as you keyser is indacating but not just the family was affected and to people who helped look for Whitney and who knew her to be shut out of her memorial seems very uncarring. Their money is OK to take from them but to not let them come to the memotial just seens uncarring. The family did not even have to be there if they were in such grif.

  Also Clint the husband had a pay pal account set up where prople could donate money just the Monday after they found her so his griff was not so bad as he was not above accepting money.

  This question has been brothering me for awhile. Why did Whitney Heichel's family not hold her memorial in a large place such as a school gymnasium?

  We have has memorial's where I live which is about 600 miles from Portland Or and our city has places that are large enough for 2000 or more. We had one family in our hall whose son was hit by a train and we had over 800 people there. Also we have had in our city non JW's that die and the whole community has shown respect to the family by attending the funeral. I have not attended because I did not know the person but I have seen on the news that they have been as many as 2000 to a funeral of a worldly person here.

  Also why was it on a Friday during the day. Why not hold it on a Saturday to show kindness for those who have to work. They could have easily have found a place that would have held up to two thousand or more especially in Portland. I am sure Jehovah would have provided a place.

  Something is just not adding up. Think of the great witnesses it would have given to have everyone seeing the chief of police sitting arm in arm with the family, can you not imagine what a great witnesses it would have been to see the mayor and the 'hugging the life out of them.' They could have had boxes of literature out and schools have plenty of places to feed people. This way they would have also not had to turn away ones or had then stand in a tent in the parking lot. They could have then had a small memorial for just the family and not made such a huge thing about it like they did.

  Something is just really not adding up.

  last weekend he worked with an elder who is in his late 50's, another brother who is in his mid 60's, my husband is in his mid 60's and the idiot who conducted the meeting put a eight or nine year old girl with them.. i asked my husband why?

  he said he thought it was strange also.

  OTWO I agree I think that is what is bothering me so much. It would be a perfect chance for a pedophile to molest a child.

  I agree I do not want more children's lived screwed over. Yet there is nothing I can say or do about it. It just eats at me.

  why, he even has gone to some meetings at their kingdom hall!

  someone calls with a large wedding tent that they would like to donate and set up in the kingdom hall parking lot for the public memorial on friday.

  i was amazed how people who came that didnt even know whitney, but simply felt a need to be here and comfort the family.

  I asked my husband why? He said he thought it was strange also. The parents were out in service and it was just the way it wound up. It just totally creeps me out she is just a child.

  This girl's mom was the one who went to the elders and ratted me out for telling her that there were three pedophiles in the hall when this girl was three years old. The elder she talked to threatened to DF me for causing divisions in the hall and told me he had to convince this mom that the pedophiles were indeed safe to let her child be around.

  I do not know why it bothers me so much. I drilled my husband about if he was ever alone with the girl and he assured me over and over he was never alone but I just do not think it was right. If she had to go alone without her mom and dad put her with a family not three old men. Why would parents ever let the child go alone like that? OK the mom is beyond stupid I get but still.

  Am I wrong for finding this upsetting? I just cannot put my finger on why this upsets me so much.

  The bank thing is a total lie. I worked in three different banks here in the Pacific Northwest, my state boards Organ and never in a million years would someone give out information unless they had a court order. Plus Whitney's husband could have just went in and retrieved the information himself without asking someone to break the law.

  Also I am sure if Clint Heichel had called Bethel first they would have told him to NOT GO TO THE POLICE! That he should think of the reproach it might bring on Jehovah's name.

  My husband and I were told NOT TO GO TO THE POLICE NO MATTER WHAT when we were being stalked by a brother when we were first married.

  Also I live about 600 miles from where this happened and I thought that it was on the new here Tuesday night. I am almost sure of it. So so much for the 24 hours before the police got involved.

  i have only just recently found this site, in fact only recently gone online to do research of my own about jws.

  before i left i had only gone on my gut instinct, not even realising i was not alone with my feelings.

  the week i was appointed an elder some 11 years ago, i had had to write to a congregation many miles away from me about how unloving they were (more details below).. not long after i started to have concerns about jws, expecially as the message of 'following the bibles message' subtly changed to 'follow the fds', this did not sit well with me.

  happy@last: The elders in my previous congregation, who had been on the committee told us to 'move on' with our lives, and warned that we could be dealt with for slander if we were to tell anyone.

  Your story is almost identical to mine expect I was an elders wife instead of an elder.

  I too lost 20 pounds in two months and I feel did have a nervous break down. I could not sleep or eat. I just could not believe what I was seeing was truly happening.

  I just reread some of you story. This pedophile would sit by me like he tired to your sister, my husband begged the elders to stop it. Instead they told me I was the one who was following him and sitting by him? Oh my God it was insane. I would put my meeting bag on my seat before he even came into the hall and then I would move my bag when he sat by me, he would then move his bag to where I was sitting, I would then move again and he would then move again. Yet I was the one following HIM?

  One time he grabbed my arm coming up quickly behind me. I almost screamed yet I was the one following him?

  I too called instead of writing another hall and begged this PO in the other hall to help me. He did nothing, NOTHING. I will never forgive them, I just can't.

  I was just flabbergasted that they let a man who raped kids little kid go door to door study with people who had children.

  It was what cased me to leave.

  A Couple Points about New Elders Child Abuse Letter Directions ...........

  in aragon's thread which has reached 6 pages a couple of points were touched on that i wanted to bring out but thought these points deserved a whole thread to dissect and discuss them.. first off : there seems to be a total hypocrisy , arrogance, or typical speaking out of both sides of their mouth when the wt instructions in the letter says :.

  " the branch office, not the local body of elders, determines whether an individual who has sexually abused children in the past will be considered a ' predator ' .

  then this quote from the 1997 wt instructions : " and the congregation cannot read hearts to tell who is and who is not liable to molest children again.

  Great posts Flipper and undercover I agree the BSA has sounded just like the WTS since I first heard of the secret' documents last week.

  On a side note as in my hall I think some is really wrong with the elders who allow this they truly cannot be that brainwashed can they. Come on you have a man in the hall who made kids do oral sex on him and the elders fondle all over him like he is some big celebrity. Something just does not add up.
